Faith formation at an early age is essential for a child’s growth and development as lifelong Christians. We encourage families to enroll children in grade-level classes starting in Kindergarten. It becomes a natural part of their lives to learn about, develop a relationship with, and worship the Trinitarian God who loves them. Please do not wait until your child enters 2nd grade and begins to prepare to receive the sacraments – there is so much to learn that it is beneficial to have a strong foundation of faith that begins at birth at home and is then strengthened through participation in Religious Education classes. We welcome students who attend Catholic schools and want to build community relationships with their St. Jude “Church family” as well. We encourage you to enroll all K-5th students each year and then join our Youth Groups for Jr. High and High School!

You may print out a registration form or scroll down further to fill out the form online, but please do not turn in both. You may drop off a check to the Parish Office for payment or pay online through Faith Direct.

Sacramental Preparation

Archbishop Aquila has restored the order of the Sacraments of Initiation to their original order: Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. “This will make available every sacramental grace the Church has to offer to children who have reached the age of reason.” For more information on this, please visit archden.org/saints/.

This is a two-year program to receive three sacraments. Here at St. Jude we are now preparing children in grades 2 and up according to the following schedule:

Year 1 Sacramental Preparation: 2nd graders (and 3rd – 5th graders who have not yet received the Sacrament of Reconciliation) will prepare for and receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation (first confession) in the spring.

Year 2 Sacramental Preparation: 3rd graders (and 4th and 5th graders who have already celebrated First Reconciliation) will prepare for and receive the sacraments of Confirmation and First Eucharist in the spring. Sacramental Preparation classes take place at the same time as regular K-5th grade classes. For 2021, there may be a remote learning option as well as a home study option for Sacramental Preparation. Please contact Deacon Michael Bunch for more information.

Baptized children should register for their appropriate grade level class each year (based on the Colorado public schools cut-off date of October 1.) If your child has not yet been baptized, or was baptized in another Christian denomination, please contact Deacon Michael Bunch at 303-988-6435 x 16 or mbunch@saintjudelakewood.org.
